Oakland Jewellery is a specialist jeweller based in Peterborough and Stamford with over 15 years of experience in commissions, remodelling and repairs. We migrated their site from WordPress to a custom-built platform, adding animations, a blog CMS, and a training session to give the team full control from the outset.

The starting point
and the problem.
Oakland Jewellery handles bespoke commissions, remodelling, and repairs across gold, silver, and platinum, serving clients across Peterborough and Stamford for over 15 years. Their work ranges from small repairs to complete custom pieces, and the quality of their craftsmanship is consistent throughout. But their website was on WordPress and was not presenting that quality well.
The existing site had grown difficult to maintain, relied on third-party plugins that required constant monitoring, and presented ongoing security concerns. Performance had also become an issue. For a jeweller where the visual presentation of work is central to attracting the right clients, a slow or unreliable site is a real problem.
Beyond the technical concerns, the design itself needed to be refreshed. They wanted a modern, easy-to-navigate site that showcased their bespoke services effectively and gave prospective clients a clear sense of what Oakland Jewellery does and why they should trust them with valuable and often emotionally significant work.
How we made
it happen.
We designed a modern website for Oakland Jewellery that reflects the quality and care behind their work. The layout is clean and easy to navigate, with services presented clearly and a visual approach that communicates the bespoke, personal nature of what they do. Every design decision was made with the target client in mind: someone choosing a jeweller for something that matters to them.
The site was built as a fully custom, responsive platform, with advanced animations developed to make browsing more interactive and draw attention to important sections of the site. The animations add a considered, polished quality to the experience without ever feeling disproportionate for a jewellery business.
A CMS was built specifically for blog posts, giving Oakland Jewellery a way to share news, insights, and updates about their work. This keeps the site active and gives the team a practical tool for building content over time. After the site launched, we provided an hour of training covering content updates, analytics, and general site management. The session was designed to ensure the team felt confident using everything from day one.
We also migrated the site away from WordPress, removing the reliance on third-party plugins and the ongoing maintenance concerns that came with them. The new build has stronger security foundations and requires significantly less ongoing attention from the team.
