Sustain Health is a Traditional Chinese Medicine clinic and academy in Melbourne, led by Dr Scott Ling. Having previously worked with us on their WordPress website, they returned for a full redesign, and we delivered a cleaner, faster, and significantly more refined online presence.

The starting point
and the problem.
Sustain Health has built a strong reputation as one of Australia's most respected Traditional Chinese Medicine practices. Led by Dr Scott Ling, the clinic combines eastern wisdom with western healthcare principles, offering acupuncture, herbal medicine, and integrative therapies alongside an educational academy offering courses to practitioners and students.
Having previously worked with Brilliant Digital on their original WordPress website, the team at Sustain Health recognised that their digital presence needed to move forward with them. The existing site no longer reflected the quality of their work or the dual nature of their offering as both a clinic and an educational institution. They returned to us for a full redesign, this time with a focus on a premium visual aesthetic, faster performance, and a more refined user experience.
The challenge was to design something that captured the calm, considered philosophy behind Traditional Chinese Medicine while also presenting the academy's educational offerings clearly. Both arms of the business needed to feel natural and connected within a single site, without one overshadowing the other.
How we made
it happen.
We started by reimagining the structure and visual identity of the site from the ground up. The design direction focused on a premium, calming aesthetic that reflects the values and philosophy of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Considered typography, generous whitespace, and a refined colour palette created a sense of spaciousness and care throughout every page.
The layout was planned to serve both the clinic and the academy equally, making it simple for users to explore treatments, understand the approach to care, and discover upcoming courses. Each section was designed to feel unhurried and clear, appropriate for a practice built on the principle that genuine wellbeing takes time.
We built the site with a strong focus on performance and responsiveness across all devices. Compared to the previous WordPress build, the new site is faster to load, smoother to navigate, and more consistent in how it handles different screen sizes. Subtle animations and interactions add movement and life to the design without disrupting the calm, measured tone established in the visual concept. The flow between clinic content and academy materials feels natural and easy to navigate.

The new Sustain Health website reflects the quality and philosophy that defines their practice. Patients and students arriving at the site now experience something that feels genuinely aligned with the standard of care and education the clinic and academy provide. The design communicates trust, expertise, and a commitment to genuine wellbeing.
The transition from their previous site to this redesign represents a significant step forward in how Sustain Health presents themselves online. The performance improvements mean the site loads faster and handles all devices better, while the refined design ensures the right impression is made immediately.
This project continues a long-standing relationship between Sustain Health and Brilliant Digital, and we are proud to support a practice that is so clearly committed to the people it serves.

What wasn’t working
